Basic Tips for Runners – No.4

Be consistent

If you are going to make your training pay off you must be consistent.

First decide how many times a week you are going to run. This decision will be based on how fit you are and what goals you have in mind. If you are a beginner three times a week will be quite sufficient. If you are experienced and perhaps training for a marathon you may want to run six days a week.

Then turn this into a habit. You may have to push yourself out to begin with but later you will feel odd if you do not go out. It takes about a month to create a habit so work on it for the first month or so.

This consistency will enable you to build your running base and then build on it. Then there will be no end to what you can aim for.
